Estelle McLean is the Data Scientist for MEIRU, facilitating access to user friendly datasets for internal and external scientists. She holds a BSc. in cellular and molecular biology from the University of Bristol, UK, and an MSc. In Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She is currently working towards her PhD using data reduction techniques on MEIRU’s longitudinal datasets to explore the changing effects of presence of family during adolescence.

Prior to joining MEIRU in 2014, Estelle worked as an epidemiologist responding to infectious disease outbreaks for the UK Health Protection Agency, and for the NGO Médecins Sans Frontières, in Nigeria, South Sudan and Liberia.
