Laurence Tembo is the Programme Manager at MEIRU. He manages a large portfolio of grants both as direct grants and sub-Awards from (predominantly UK) collaborating partners, including NIHR, Wellcome Trust, UKRI and NIH. He is supported by a team six of administrators and finance officers. At MEIRU has overall responsibility for grants contracting, preparation of accounts for auditing and he liaises directly with finance and contracts offices at collaborating institutions.
Laurence is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a Certified Accountant (CA). He graduated with a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of London in 2014. Prior to his appointment to MEIRU as Finance manager in 2010, he worked both in the public and NGO sectors in Malawi for over 10 years.
