Alick is a programmer and database manager at MEIRU. He collaborates with MEIRU researchers to understand the specific requirements of data collection tools for each study and develops software tools to enhance data processing efficiency. He uses a wide range of software platforms, frameworks, and Database Management Systems such as ODK, Redcap, C#, VBA, Android, MS Access, and MySQL to develop and maintain programs that facilitate data collection and ensure effective management of research data for ongoing and new studies.

He has been with MEIRU since April 2005, having worked in both the IT and data departments. In the IT department, he provided support to end-users and ensured the smooth operation of MEIRU’s IT systems and infrastructure.

Alick holds a BSc. Honors in Computing and a BSc. in Information Technology and Computer Science from the University of South Africa (UNISA). Additionally, he has obtained Microsoft certifications as well as end-user computing certifications to further enhance his technical expertise.
